FAQ

Care instructions//

All garments are given a second life with custom alterations all and some with living botanical. The natural dyes will fade over time but will drastically fade if left in direct sun or if washed in hot water.

I recommend hand washing with cold water with delicate detergent such as seventh generation or wool lite. Do not use a dryer, only hang to dry.

Eco-Printing Process //

Eco printing can be done with most botanical matter such as leaves, flowers, seeds, and stems. It is the literal process of printing an impression of the organic plant onto cloth. This is done through pressing the matter against the fabric tightly and adding heat to release its natural dyes. To get clearer results many times ferrous sulfate (iron) is added to intensify results. This process is fun and engaging as you never know what exactly will happen as each plant has its own special properties, just like you or me.

Benefits of Natural Dye //

There are many benefits to using natural botanically derived dyes. It is so much easier on the environment as the fibers stay biodegradable. It is also much safer for wearing on our bodies. Synthetic mainstream dyeing uses toxic chemicals that end up staying on the clothing. Those chemicals are slowly absorbed through our skin as we wear any artificially dyed garment. By simply purchasing a garment from this shop, you are taking your own part in a more sustainable future.

Upcycled Clothing //

An upcycled garment is a piece of clothing that has been given a further lifespan. This means that it is transformed and/or repurposed from its original use.
